Words will never convey the appreciation this dad has for what Shely and Jacob poured into me and my daughter for our epic daddy/daughter wedding dance. The patience and energy these two have is unparalleled.

I signed up for dance as a surprise to my daughter, but realized quickly this was too good to keep under wraps. I started bringing her along and we created lifelong memories from the time together.

The Dance With Me student body and additional staff are so supportive of each other. Even when it took me slowing steps to crawls and counting way past the 8 count for things to make sense to me, it was always a safe space, each and every visit with us leaving, feeling encouraged to take on the world.

Google won’t let me link a video, but I’ve sent one of our wedding dance to Shely and hope you will give them a try and be encouraged when you see what we did.

Katelyn and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for being such a pivotal part of her most important day. We love you!

At first I was nervous about going to learn to dance, but the staff are so friendly and welcoming that I forgot my nervousness and had a lot of fun. Now I can't wait to go each week

Dance With Me FTW has truly become my home away from home. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for not just as a student, but as a person. Every instructor and staff member is incredibly talented, but what stands out even more is how invested they are in helping each student grow, improve, and believe in themselves.

The environment they’ve created is something really special. It’s challenging in the best way, encouraging, uplifting, and filled with people who genuinely want to see you succeed. I feel so lucky to learn from these professionals every single day and to be surrounded by such an amazing community.

I truly could not recommend Dance With Me more. It has brought so much joy, confidence, growth, and friendship into my life, and I’m endlessly grateful for this studio and everyone in it!

I had a very fun afternoon! Finally got my dancing shoes on and went to a dance studio. Not just any dance studio mind you. This studio is one of a chain of studios that Maks and Val Chermerkovskiy founded! These studios are called "Dance With Me". When I saw their Facebook ad I had to check it out. Dancing and music has been a big part of my life that I put aside for many years. This was my opportunity to see if It would still bring me happiness. I'm happy to report that the answer is a resounding YES! This particular studio is in Fort Worth, Texas and is a beautiful area. The manager is Ricky (I didn't get his last name) and he is the one I had an introductory lesson with today. He comes from Ecuador and is an excellent instructor. He gave me some tips that I hadn't learned anywhere else that will help me gain more strength in my legs as well as help with my balance. I was greeted by another instructor within a minute of walking through the door. They made me feel right at home. I will be going back for sure! I highly recommend Dance With Me. Another thing that will ensure I go back is that Maks and Val (and their father) sometimes visit the studio and do group lessons!! Won't that be a kick?!

Corella Ricardo "Ricky"

Ricardo, or “Ricky” as his students call him, started dancing at the age of 8. As a child he preferred football but one day his mother convinced him to take a dance class. After the first lesson, he was hooked.

Ricky’s passion for knowledge, perfection, and competitive nature drove his love for dance and pushed him towards competing in International Standard and Latin. At the age of 14, Ricky started coaching other young competitive couples and quickly became known as a young leader and ambassador for the sport.

He participated in many South American and Pan-American championships winning several titles and representing Ecuador on the official Ecuadorian Dance Sport team. Ricky moved to the United States in 2017 to further pursue his competitive dance career. He loves getting the opportunity to share his love of dance with students of all levels.

Yes — the Texas Two-Step, Country Waltz, country swing and the Fort Worth Shuffle. Country Western dancing is a staple of local culture, and we break the footwork and styling down step by step so you're ready for a night out at Billy Bob's, the White Elephant Saloon, or any honky-tonk in the Stockyards. A lot of our students come to us after a few free lessons at a venue. Those are a great introduction, but forty-five minutes on a packed floor gets you the pattern — what it can't really teach is floorcraft: travelling counter-clockwise in line of dance, reading gaps, leading a turn without clipping the couple behind you. That's the difference between knowing the steps and being genuinely comfortable at Billy Bob's on a Saturday night. One thing worth knowing: Texas Two-Step and Country Western Two-Step are the same dance. The first is the regional name born in Texas honky-tonks; the second is the formal name used by national organizations and dance studios. We're fifteen minutes south of the Stockyards at Clearfork, so a warm-up lesson before a night out is easy to fit in.

We're at 5259 Marathon Avenue inside The Shops at Clearfork, in the Edwards Ranch district — seconds off the Chisholm Trail Parkway and minutes from TCU. You can park in either of the two large parking structures—such as the main Parking Structure @The Shops at Clearfork (often referred to as the Blue Garage) accessible via Monahans Avenue, or the Orange Garage located just off Trailhead Bend Road. Parking in both garages is completely free, and you can simply take the ground-floor pedestrian exits for a short, straightforward walk over to Dance With Me Fort Worth. Clearfork is an open-air development, so parking is straightforward and there's dining and shopping a short walk from our door — a lot of our students turn a lesson into a full evening. We're an easy drive from the Cultural District, West 7th, Downtown, Benbrook, Westover Hills, Aledo, Burleson and Crowley, and about fifteen minutes from the Stockyards. Call 817.813.8300 if you're running late.

New students start with our $49 intro special, which includes a private lesson + a group class/ or an invitation to our next social party. We'll walk you through the options in person at your intro, and you won't be asked to commit to anything that day. After that, group classes are $30 and private lessons have a range between $132-$170 (Depending on Program)

Yes — every routine is choreographed to your song, your attire and your comfort level. For simple comfort: most couples need 5 to 7 private lessons to learn fundamental rhythm, timing, and a clean entrance and exit. For custom choreography: if you want a routine fully tailored to your song, your dress and a real finale, plan on 10 or more. Start three to four months out if you can — that keeps the lessons feeling like a date night rather than another item on the wedding checklist. Four to six weeks still works for something simpler and elegant. Tell us the venue, the size and surface of the floor, and what you're wearing; a long train, a tight bustle or a small floor each change what actually works on the night. We handle the music editing and timing.

Yes, and they're some of our favourite work. One father came to us planning a surprise for his daughter's wedding and ended up bringing her along to the lessons — the preparation became its own set of memories, separate from the dance itself. We'll build the routine around your song, your comfort level and how much time you have. Parent dances, wedding party numbers and full surprise routines are all things we do regularly.

Our studio is owned and run by Ricardo "Ricky" Corella and Shely Castillo, both of whom competed internationally for Ecuador. Ricky began dancing at eight, was coaching competitive couples by fourteen, and competed in International Standard and Latin across South American and Pan-American championships as a member of the official Ecuadorian DanceSport team. Shely started at thirteen in salsa, bachata and belly dance before moving into International Standard and Latin, and was a repeat finalist and title-winner at South American and Pan-American championships on the same national team. They're joined by Jacob, Ruby and the rest of the team

Most people are, and it passes faster than you'd expect. Your first visit runs about 45 minutes: a few minutes talking about why you want to dance, then you're on the floor actually dancing — usually learning a basic step in one or two styles — and at the end we'll show you what a realistic plan looks like for your goal. No performance, no audition, no obligation to sign anything that day. One of our students put it plainly: "At first I was nervous about going to learn to dance, but the staff are so friendly and welcoming that I forgot my nervousness and had a lot of fun." That's the usual arc.

No, you do not need a partner to take private dance lessons or group classes at Dance With Me Fort Worth. During private lessons, you will partner up and dance one-on-one with your certified professional instructor, who will tailor the lessons to your individual needs and pace. In our group classes, we frequently rotate partners. This constant rotation is highly effective for helping you develop lead-and-follow skills faster while introducing you to our warm, welcoming social dance community.

Wear something you can move and sweat in — slacks, leggings, a skirt with movement, or jeans with some give. For shoes the rule is smooth sole: leather-soled dress shoes, character shoes, or proper dance shoes. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers, and leave the boots with heavy lugged soles at home — they grip the floor and stop your feet turning, which is how knees and ankles get strained. If you're wearing heels, block heels are safer than sharp stilettos. You don't need to buy dance shoes to start; most people begin in something already in their closet.

Most people feel comfortable leading or following a basic step within three to five lessons, and can hold their own at a wedding, a party or a night out in the Stockyards after about six to eight weeks of consistent classes. Real technique, styling and musicality take months to years — that's the part people stay for. If you have a fixed deadline like a wedding, tell us the date at your first visit and we'll build the plan backwards from it.

We teach every style we list, all year round. What rotates is the monthly group class lineup, so the schedule stays fresh for regulars and a wider range of styles gets its turn on the floor. Private lessons are never affected — you can book any style, any month, at whatever pace suits you. So if you're after Two Step, West Coast Swing, Bachata or anything else you don't see in this month's lineup, it isn't gone. Check the current schedule, or call 817.813.8300 and we'll tell you when it comes around and set you up with a private lesson in the meantime.

The most popular styles at our Fort Worth studio are Country Western (Texas Two-Step, Country Waltz and the Fort Worth Shuffle), Latin (Salsa and Bachata), Swing (East and West Coast Swing), and ballroom classics like Waltz and Tango. Our full curriculum covers five programs: American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Latin, International Standard, and Social/Club Styles — so whether you want to dance elegantly at a gala or kick up your boots at a honky-tonk, there's a style that fits.

Yes — couples' lessons are one of the most common reasons people book with us. Trading your phones for the dance floor builds trust, relieves stress, and turns into a workout that doesn't feel like one. Whether you want spicy Salsa, romantic Tango or classic Country Western, it's a genuinely different evening. And because we're inside the Shops at Clearfork, you can park once and make a night of it — dinner and drinks are a short walk from the studio door, and it's a far easier evening than fighting traffic in West 7th or Downtown.

Yes, both. Our Performance Group brings together students who want to work on a larger ensemble piece for our showcases, and our Advanced Latin Choreography class is built for Silver and Gold-level dancers, blending advanced technique, musicality, styling and performance skills into routines inspired by competitive Latin. Both are places students end up after a year or two, not where they start. Our owners, Ricky and Shely, competed internationally for Ecuador at South American and Pan-American championships and coach Pro-Am students. Competition and showcase coaching runs mainly through private lessons, so it isn't affected by the monthly group rotation. Call 817.813.8300 and tell us what you're aiming at.

Themed, and people commit to it. Recent parties have included a Video Game Party — costumes encouraged, from classic arcade icons to modern gaming legends — and a Karaoke and Celebrations night honouring the dancers who performed in our showcase. There are snacks and refreshments, the floor stays busy, and no dance experience is required.

Yes. We host office team-building and holiday events, bachelorette and bachelor parties, birthdays, anniversaries and quinceañera choreography for the waltz or the full court. Most groups arrive with no dance experience at all, which is usually the point. Being at Clearfork means dinner before or after is easy. Call 817.813.8300 with your date, group size and occasion.

Yes! We offer couples dance lessons for all experience levels, including salsa, ballroom, bachata, wedding dance, and social dancing. Our instructors help couples build confidence, improve connection, and have fun while learning to dance together.
